[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″] What motivates me to work out is the healing, both physically and mentally, that comes from going to the gym. Since joining in late January, CSC has served as an outlet to keep me centered and focused, especially after a particularly stressful or frustrating day. I know that if I just keep coming in, even if I am experiencing pain or fatigue, that I will feel better by the time I finish a workout and that I will see results.

I have been in and out of physical therapy for the past eight years due to chronic injuries in my right leg and right arm from being a cross-country runner and a sailor. Since my initial injuries, I have experienced daily pain from even simple activities such as walking, standing, or writing, and had to undergo an ankle surgery four years ago. Due to the pain greatly limiting what I could do, swimming and dancing had become my main activities because of their low impact nature. But I knew these activities alone wouldn’t be enough to help me make the changes that I needed in my life.

I joined CSC because I needed a gym with exceptional group training and exercise classes since I cannot regularly use a lot of the traditional gym equipment. The trainers and instructors at CSC have helped me to find new ways to get a great workout as well as how to modify exercises to my needs. The staff is so high energy, they make me excited to come in for the workouts.

The group training and Pilates classes have made the biggest difference in my life. I had never done these types of training before and they have really strengthened my whole body. The trainers make the classes very fun and push me to work harder than I would on my own. I have learned how to isolate muscle groups during certain exercises and to be more in tune with what my body is doing. These training programs have helped me to undo a lot of bad habits I formed due to compensating from my injuries. My posture and form have improved so much not only during my workouts, but also in my every day life. I am slowly regaining my ability to run and have even been able to start doing push-ups, things I never thought I’d be able to do again.

Going to the gym regularly has made many positive improvements in my life. It has greatly reduced the pain I experience from every day activities. I also find myself sleeping better and having a lot more energy during the day. I no longer feel like my life is full of limitations and joining CSC has helped me take my life back.
