After graduating from college, I moved back to Boston and began working at Commonwealth Sports Club at the front desk. Since that day, CSC has become a huge part of my life. I’ve been here for a little over 11 years now and have worked in pretty much every part of this gym! I’ve built some great relationships and have had amazing opportunities to grow as both a person and fitness professional.

I began my fitness career teaching group exercise classes. With certifications in Spinning, Pilates Mat and Barre, I’ve taught all different ages, abilities, and body types. Teaching in a large setting such as that made me really attune to how different bodies move and how to adjust to all different learning styles.

When it came to my own fitness, I started working with a personal trainer who introduced me to strength training. Working with trainers really gave me a better understanding of the value that came with that coaching and the importance of being taught how to properly strength train. Wanting to take the next step, I decided to become a Certified Functional Strength Coach. With the CFSC, I mostly focused on group training. I loved the energy of groups and our group training program focused more on the strength training aspect that I love.

Wanting to further my education even more, I went on to become a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I started working with more clients on a one-on-one basis, now able to really focus on their individual needs. As a trainer, I want the work we do in the gym to translate to whatever people do outside the gym. Strength training should serve a purpose in our lives and make our daily movements easier and pain free.
One thing that motivates me is my love of learning and at CSC, I’ve had the opportunity to learn something new every day. Our most successful and happiest members are those with that same strong desire to learn, that’s why I like to help people get out of their comfort zone to try something new; I’ve seen first-hand what a positive impact it can have!
